Indian River Falls Late To Ben Franklin

Indian River lost a tough game Tuesday night when they fell to Benjamin Franklin 49-39 . The loss drops the Indians to 4-3 on the year.

Indian River found themselves in a dog fight early. The Indians were looking to speed up the game and use their athleticism in transition while the Bayhawks were content to slow things down to a crawl. In fact, Franklin began to stall out the clock in the first quarter with a three point lead, forcing the Indians to come out of their zone to pick up pressure on the ball at mid court. Still, Franklin would take just a 18-14 lead into the break.

The Indians would find the shooting touch in the second half to keep it close and once again found themselves in a ball game in the third. The Bayhawks would grab a small lead in the forth and again stalled, forcing the Indians to extend their pressure further than they preferred. KeiJuan Major led the way offensively, finishing with 21 points 5 rebounds, while Shaquille Hall added 7 points and 2 rebounds and  Cooper added 6 points and 13 rebounds. Indian River returns to action Tuesday when they host Laurel.
