Federalsburg Man Hospitalized After Serious Collision

A 25-year-old Federalsburg man is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries after a collision on early Sunday morning.

Authorities from the Maryland State Police Easton Barrack say they responded to Route 392 near Wesley Road for a single-vehicle motor vehicle collision at 12:29 a.m. We’re told a black Scion TC driven by Christopher Bailey, 25, was traveling east on Route 392 when it left the road way. According to police, the vehicle overturned and struck a tree and utility support wire.

Bailey was reportedly airlifted to Peninsula Medical Regional Center with life threatening injuries before being transported to University of Maryland Shock Tramua.

Maryland State Highway Administration from the Cambridge Office responded to the scene to assist with traffic control and an extended closure due to a down power line.

The Dorchester County Sherriff’s Office assisted with the investigation.

Authorities say they believe speed was a contributing factor.
