Family services worker charged with sexual extortion, police misconduct

A Dover man was arrested and charged on Tuesday with sexual extortion and police misconduct, according to Harrington Police.

Authorities say Gregory Bunkley, 52, is a a case worker with the Delaware Division of Family Services. Bunkley reportedly came under a police investigation in August 2014 after a victim came forward to report claims that she was intimidated and coerced into performing sexual acts on him. According to police, the victim claimed she was in fear that if she did not cooperate, Bunkley would use the authority from his position with the Division of Family Services to take her children away from her.

Police say Bunkley was arraigned via video phone at Justice Of The Peace Court in Lewes. We’re told he has been committed to Sussex Correctional Institute in lieu of a $7000 secured bond.

Authorities say although Bunkley has been charged, the investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Sergeant/Detective Adam Gillespie of the Harrington Police Department at 302-398-4493.
