Dover Girls Basketball Coast Past Laurel
The Dover girls basketball team used their length and athleticism to jump out to an early lead, and never looked back on their way to a big 62-28 win over Laurel Monday night. The win improves the Senators to 2-3, while the loss drops the Bulldogs to 1-5.
Dover jumped out to a big lead early on aided by their length and defensive presence down low. They forced several turnovers and were able to get easy transition baskets because of it. They would take a 13-1 lead after the first before watching it balloon to 28-8 at halftime. The offenses would heat up for both teams in the third but the deficit proved to be too much for the Bulldogs to overcomes. The Senators were led offensively by Brionna Hill’s 13 points, while the Bulldogs were led by Samaria Rispers’ 13 points.
