Diggs Tops 1,000 Point Mark As Parkside Rolls
Senior point guard Dajour Diggs topped the 1,000 point plateau as he and the Parkside Boys basketball team cruised to victory, topping the Cambridge South Dorchester Vikings 89-36 in Salisbury.
Diggs, who sat at 997 before the night started, got a layup to go just seconds into the game, but didn’t stay at 999 for too long. A couple possessions later Diggs would come off a down screen and catch a pass from sophomore guard Gary Briddell behind the arc, and knock down the three.
“I knew felt it off the fingertips, so yeah I knew it was going in.” said Diggs. With the shot, Diggs became just the third member of the Parkside boys basketball 1,000 point club. “It feels good knowing that you can come back and see your name on the wall and say I played for him (head coach Dave Byer) here.
Diggs finished with yet another double-double on the young season with 14 points and 11 assists, while his running mate Colen Gaynor finished with 22 points and 11 rebounds while senior wing forward finished with 14.
The Rams conclude their pre-Christmas schedule undefeated and will have big tests in the Governors’ Challenge. Cambridge will also participate in the Governors’ Challenge beginning Friday, December 26th at the Wicomico Youth and Civic Center.
