Delmar man arrested for begging in Salisbury roadway

A Delmar man has been arrested for habitual begging along a busy roadway in Salisbury.
The Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office says on December 19th around 2:30 PM, a Deputy noticed 28-year-old Nicholas Parks standing in the median of Route 13, near Northpointe Drive, with a sign reading “homeless need help.” The Deputy also apparently watched Parks walk into the roadway to collect money from passing vehicles.
The day before, Authorities say, the Deputy had warned Parks about staying away from that location, and to stop walking into the road. Parks has apparently had several encounter with law enforcement, all for soliciting in the roadway.
Parks was then arrested, and charged with failing to obey a lawful order, and habitual begger, for violation of the County Ordinance that prohibits people soliciting for money. Parks was later released on his own personal recognizance.
