Dec. 8 – Health Connect Now
GOOD MORNING DELMARVA - 1. What is the HealthConnectNow?
- Health insurance enrollment and health fair for Lower Shore residents, hosted by the Lower Shore Health Insurance Assistance Program. The program aims to educate and enroll residents of Somerset, Wicomico, and Worcester counties in health plans offered by Maryland Health Connection, the state's health insurance marketplace.
- The event will feature health insurance enrollment, health screenings, information, activities, and light refreshments. Certified program staff and brokers will be on site to answer questions and guide consumers through the application process.
- One per month throughout open enrollment (until mid-February).
- When: Saturday, December 13, 2014 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
- Where: Worcester Youth and Family Services in Berlin
- If you applied for coverage in 2014, you will need to re-enroll for 2015 by December 18, 2014 to avoid a lapse in coverage and cost savings. This event is a great opportunity to enroll by that deadline.
2. What is the timeline for enrollment?
- Enrollment opened in mid-November and ends in mid-February. As of November 24, 2014, over 25,000 Marylanders enrolled in coverage through Maryland Health Connection since the beginning of open enrollment.
- For those that got a health plan through Maryland Health Connection in 2014, they will need to re-enroll by December 18 to continue their coverage for 2015.
- Medicaid enrollment is open all year.
