Clouds with Holes

Have you ever looked up in the sky and noticed giant holes in certain clouds

These holes are known as Fallstreak cloud or hole-punch clouds and occur in cirrocumulus or altocumulus clouds.

The appearance of a hole can be seen when the water droplets are cooled to a temperature below 0° Celsius.

Planes flying at 30 thousand feet can bring ice crystals to the water droplets causing the water droplets to freeze even quicker and leading them to fall leaving behind a hole in the clouds.

If you thought it was an UFO, well now you know.
