Cause of Bridgeville structure fire under investigation

A fire that burned an abandoned building in Bridgeville, remains under investigation.
The Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office says on Wednesday, around 9:00 PM, a fire started at a home on Newton Road in Bridgeville. Several fire companies responded, including Bridgeville, Greenwood, and Farmington Volunteer Fire Companies, and put out the blaze.
According to the report, the structure had been abandoned for many years, and was in severe collapsed condition before the fire. Officials say the structure had no working smoke detectors, and no injuries were reported.
Investigators say they are still working to figure our what caused the fire, and where is started.
There was apparently a couple seen at the property on Tuesday. Anyone with information about these people are asked to contact the Office of the State Fire Marshal at 302-856-5600.
