Cambridge SD Boys Basketball Drop Tough Battle Vs. Thurgood Marshall

Cambridge South Dorchester lost in the opening round of the Governor’s Challenge to Thurgood Marshall 53-43. The loss drops the Vikings to 3-4 on the season.

The defenses would be the story of the game early on for both squads. Cambridge would clamp down and force Warriors into several contest shots, but were unable to capitalise on the offensive end. The Vikings would head into the break finding themselves down 22-13 at the break.

Both offenses would start to find a little bit of a rhythm in the third quarter as Dre Green would spark the Vikings. Whether it was scoring in transition as well as taking his man on the block, he got his team back into it. Headed to the fourth, Cambridge was down just 4 and opened the quarter with two straight buckets to tie up the game. The Vikings seemingly spent all their energy getting to that point though, as the Warriors answered with 6 straight points to open up that lead again. As time ticked down, Cambridge was forced to foul down the stretch which made the score a wider spread then the game truly was.
