Salisbury Men’s Soccer Falls In First Round

Lancaster, PA- The Salisbury University men's soccer team fell 4-0 in the first round of the NCAA Division III men's soccer tournament to University of Rochester (N.Y.)

Scoreless at the half, the game opened up in the 50th minute in favor of Rochester. Yellow Jackets' Alex Swanger played a ball to the middle of the field, where teammate Ben Swanger lined the ball to the top-right corner of the back of the net. Just four minutes later, a blocked ball fell to the feet of Rochester's Jeff Greblick, who sent a shot to the low right post.

After gaining a two goal lead, the Yellow Jackets would add two more goals before the end of the game. The Gulls would get three shots off in the final 30, but all were wide of the net.

The Sea Gulls conclude the 2014 season as regular-season champions of
the Capital Athletic Conference with a 6-1-2 record, while earning an
at-large bid into their 12th national tournament. Through 20 matches,
Salisbury scored 38 goals and only gave up 14, recording 11 shutouts for
the season.
