Salisbury Basketball Holds Off Bryn Athyn For First Win
Salisbury, MD- The Salisbury University men's
basketball team kicked off its 2014-15 season with a 78-72 victory Saturday, November 15th over Bryn
Athyn College at Maggs Physical Activities Center.
Four Sea Gulls scored in double figures, with junior Kyle Savercool leading the way with 21 points. The Gulls jumped out to an 18-8 lead in the opening minutes of the first half. After having the lead cut to 4, Salisbury went on another big run, holding their largest lead of the first half 32-18 with a little over five minutes remaining. Although the Lions would twice cut Salisbury's lead to 4, the Sea Gulls continued to hold their lead through the second half, never relinquishing it to Bryn Athyn.
With the win, Salisbury advances to the tournament championship game. The Gulls will take on No. 14 Dickinson College at Maggs PAC.
The opening tip is set for 5 p.m.
