Queen Anne’s Outlast Rival Kent Island, Earn #1 2A East Seed

Stevensville, MD- The Queen Anne's County Lions took down the Kent Island Buccaneers, 13-9, and grabbed the 2A East #1 seed in the process.

Kent Island got on the board early when a punt by the Lions deflected off a Lions player and was downed at their own one yard line. Zach Smith would score the touchdown on the next play, but the extra point would be no good. The Lions would respond when Cordell Rodgers took a jet sweep handoff off right tackle 68 yards to the house. QA took the lead 7-6 when the PAT was kicked thru, and would take that lead into the half. The Lions would become stingier on defense in the second half, allowing only three points, while scoring a late touchdown to lock the lead down for good.

Although final playoff points are still being added up, both Queen Anne's and Kent Island will both be making appearances in the 2A East bracket. The Lions will enter as the number one seed while the Bucs will enter the bracket as either the second or third seed.
