Phase two of Westside project completed
The Westside Project is making headway in connecting roads. Officials opened up a new extension in Salisbury on Friday.
The second phase of a four-step project is a 1.8 mile extension connects Brick Kiln Road to Levin Dashiell Road. This allows the West side of the county quicker access to the business district.
In a non-traditional ribbon cutting, county executive Rick Pollitt drove through the ribbon marking the official opening.
“This a part of our legacy, even through the depths of the recession, we were able to make progress in Wicomico County. We're building schools, we're opening roads, and we've got a bright future ahead of us.” Says Pollitt.
The third phase of the project will connect Levin Dashiell Road to Crooked Oak Road.
Officials hope to begin construction this spring.
