No. 1 SU Field Hockey Advance to CAC Championship Match
Salisbury, MD – The Salisbury University field hockey team advanced to the Capital Athletic Conference championship match Wednesday night after they defeated York 5-0. The Sea Gulls will now play Christopher Newport on Saturday.
The Sea Gulls grabbed the lead just 12 minutes into the match when Summer Washburn would find the back of the cage. That lead would double just 21 minutes later when Natalie Wilkinson would take a pass from Jessica Crew, and put it in. Abbey SHobe would then make it a 3-0 lead in the second half after she took a pass form Samantha Johnson and set it in. The Sea Gulls offense was really clicking on all cylinders as they got contributions from many offensive players. Courtney Jantzen then became the 4th SU player to register a goal after Hannah Miller found her off a long pass from right side. Samantha Johnson would then add the final goal of the game to seal the match.
