Jim Mathias Is Optimistic About Second Term
MARYLAND - Jim Mathias is expected to hold on to his seat in the Maryland Senate.
Absentee ballots may be holding back the official ruling, but Mathias is optimistic.
47 ABC spoke to the incumbent today about his plans for a second term, and how he plans to change the minds of those who opposed him.
Mathias said “we want to make certain here that the jobs are here. We want to be certain that when the capital investment comes, that it comes to Maryland.” and “Most importantly we want to make sure that people are here, they're proud to be here on the Eastern Shore and they know that they're voices are heard and that they are represented.”
Pending last night's expected victory, Mathias will now begin his second term.
The absentee ballots will be counted Thursday.
