Cape Field Hockey Continues Domination, Rolls to Round 2

Lewes, DE- The undefeated Cape Henlopen Field Hockey team remained perfect on the year, defeating Concord 5-0 in Champions Stadium on the campus of Cape Henlopen High School.

Tess Bernheimer got the scoring started fairly early in the first half when she fired a shot past the keeper off a corner. Bernheimer's goal came with about 17 minutes remaining and surprisingly would be the only goal of the first half. “We try to score as early as possible…but we didn't really do that, we waited til the second half.” said Bernheimer.

Cape would explode in the second half on offense. Alexa Woodruff would send home a shot from the top of the circle about 5 minutes after the break, followed by freshman Annie Judge's score from close, essentially putting a lock on the game only 10 minutes after half. Bernheimer and Alexa Woodruff would add goals to push Cape's lead to 5-0.

Cape moves to round 2 where they will face Sussex Tech on Saturday, Nov. 8th at Dover High School.
