Rams’ Put In Game Winner in Crunch Time, Advance to 2A East Semis
Salisbury, MD- In what was arguably the best soccer game on the Eastern Shore of 2014, the Parkside Rams got a goal from sophomore Noah O'Barsky with less than two minutes remaining in the game to defeat the Kent Island Buccaneers 2-1, Tuesday afternoon.
Parkside got the scoring started in the 22nd minute, when Gabe Wenke caught up with a deep pass and put a shot past the keeper. The Rams would take the 1-0 lead into half and possess that lead for much of the second half until with 6:33 to go in the game. Jimmy Hollincerz would get a ball in the box and bury it in the bottom right corner. With the game in the balance, a unsung hero would emerge for Parkside. Sophomore Noah O'Barsky found the ball dwindling free in the box after a throw in, and buried it home. “I had a good feeling” said O'Barsky about the goal. The Rams would take the lead with 1:54 remaining in the game and not let go of it.
The Rams advance and will take on Bayside Champion Easton on October 31st, for a trip in the 2A East Regional Final.
