Mardela Girls Soccer Downs Cambridge To Advance To Regional Finals
Salisbury, MD – The Mardela girls soccer team advanced to the regional finals Tuesday after they defeated Cambridge South Dorchester 8-2. The Warriors will now play Snow Hill on Friday.
The Warriors jumped out to a quick lead after Kasey “Bam Bam” Goshorn would come up with a lose ball and fire it home from the top of the box. Shortly there after, the Warriors lead would stretch to 2-0 after Gabby Kepplinger would find the back of the net. Samantha Pope would then score the first of 3 goals to open the match up. The Eagles kept fighting and got back within 4-2 after Ashley Pete would show great hustle, keeping a ball alive and firing it home. But the Warriors would score 4 goals in 5 minutes to seal the match.
