Laurel Blast Delmar, Claim Lions Club Trophy

Delmar, DE – The Laurel football team continues to impress as they traveled to Delmar and came away with the 34-13 win, and the Lions Club Trophy. The win improves the Bulldogs to 6-2 on the year, while the loss drops the Wildcats to 3-5.

The Bulldogs would take the lead first when Chucky Auguste would punch on in. That was the start of his big game, as he finished with 262 touchdowns and 3 touchdowns. But the Wildcats would come right back as Shane Leatherbury would lead his team down the field, and cap it off with a 1 yard keeper up the middle for the score to tie it. Alan Lubiniecki would then answer with a long drive of his own, Jarrett Johnson for a 31 yard score. The Bulldogs would take the 14-7 lead into the break, but ran away with it in the second half. Jarrett Johnson and Reggie Green would both add touchdowns on the ground and the Bulldogs pulled out a huge win.

Delmar returns to the field next Friday when they host Indian River, while Laurel hits the road next Friday to play Milford.
