Hogan Stays Silent On Gun Control

SALISBURY, Md. – While Hogan was in Salisbury stumping for votes on the Eastern Shore, 47 ABC attempted to ask him about his official stance on gun control since the NRA recently endorsed him.  Before our 47 ABC reporter could finish the question Wednesday afternoon Hogan declined to answer and walked away.  During the Republican primary campaign Hogan said he was against the gun control legislation, because it went too far. But in recent televised debates Hogan flip-flopped. Saying he was supportive of an assault weapon ban and background checks, and opposed the bill because it didn't go far enough.

Adam Dubitsky Hogan for Gov. Communications Director released following statement to 47 ABC Wednesday evening: “As Governor, Larry Hogan will uphold both the U.S. Constitution and the laws of Maryland; he will not overturn existing Maryland law and will work across party lines to reduce gun violence.”

Thursday we'll hear more from Hogan in the second part of 47 ABC's series on the candidates. Tune in Thursday at 6 for that full report.
