Hampton Rolls DSU Football
Dover, DE- The Hornets of Delaware State dropped their second straight game to fall to 2-7 overall, and 2-3 in the MEAC, as they stumbled to a 23-0 loss to Hampton at Alumni Stadium.
The game was scoreless thru the first 28 minutes of the game, until Hampton's Eric Carter capped off a 98 yard drive with a four-yard touchdown. The extra point would be no good and Hampton would take a 6-0 lead into halftime.
The Pirates would extend their lead midway thru the third as Rashawn Proctor caught a 56-yard touchdown with 7:34 left to go in the quarter. A couple more miscues for DSU would allow for Hampton to score a couple more times before the final whistle.
Delaware State is back in action next Saturday November 1st as they take on Howard University at Greene Stadium in Washington D.C. Game time is scheduled for 1 p.m.
