Delmar Volleyball Claim Henlopen Championship

Dover, DE – The Delmar volleyball team defeated Smyrna 3-1 Monday night to claim the Henlopen Championship crown. The win earns the Wildcats an automatic bid. 

The Eagles came storming out of the gate to take the opening  set, before the Wildcats were able to settle down and battle back in the second. In front of a great home crowd, Delmar would battle to draw even and then take the lead in the third set after some tremendous serving from Carley Covington. The Wildcats then turned up their defense, with their libero Ashton Riddle coming up with several incredible diving digs, which kept her team in it. Once the Wildcats sensed the match had swung in their favor, they would put it away.

Delmar now moves onto the state tournament where they will play Charter Saturday at 6pm.
