Bennett Football Survive Shootout With Decatur
Salisbury, MD – The James M. Bennett football team came out on top of an old shootout against Stephen Decatur Saturday afternoon 55-41. The win improves the Clippers to 3-5, while the loss drops the Seahawks to 1-7.
It would be a back and forth first half with both teams coming up with a number of big plays. Jacob Larmore would find Barry Gaines in the flat, and he would do the rest taking it in from mid field to give the Clippers a slim lead, but the Seahawks would come back. Justin Meekins would air one down the side line to find his RJ Hayman who would make the catch in traffic for the score. Trayshawn Wright would then have the answer for Bennett as he took a sweep off the right side, turned on the jets and was gone for the score. It would be tight til the 4th where the Clippers gained a 2 score lead, and would make just enough stops to get the win.
Bennett returns to action next Friday when they travel to Kent Island, while Decatur returns to the field next Thursday when they travel to Parkside.
