Woodbridge Volleyball Picks Up First Win Vs. Sussex Academy

Bridgeville, DE – The Woodbridge volleyball team picked up their first win of the season Saturday afternoon after they took down Sussex Academy in a tightly contested 3-1 match. The win improves the Blue Raiders to 1-4 on the year.

In Set 1, both teams would exchange points as the serving was controlling the match. Eventually the Blue Raiders would take a slim lead, aided by several aces from Kristen Jefferson. Set 2 was a different story though as the Seahawks battled back behind some strong serving of their own, lead by Bailey Proden. In a crucial Set 3, the Blue Raiders would rally to pull out the win before going on to close the match. In that set, Olivia Taylor came up with several great defensive plays for Woodbridge, keeping balls alive and extending rallies that ultimately proved to be a difference.

Woodbridge is back in action Monday when they host Seaford.
