Woodbridge Boys Soccer Pick Up First Win Vs. Newark

Bridgeville, DE – The Woodbridge boys soccer team picked up their first win of the year by defeating Newark 2-1 Saturday afternoon. The win improves the Blue Raiders to 1-4.

The Patriots grabbed the early lead after a corner kick found a lose ball in front of the net that was headed home, but the lead was short lived. The Blue Raiders came right back just seconds later as Humerto DelCid would come flying in from the right side and send one past the keeper. They would be squared at 1's the rest of the half.

Woodbridge would take the lead in the second half after a corner kick found its way through a crowd and was headed home by Wilian Santizo. The Patriots would turn up their attack down the stretch and challenge Nicholas Rosado, but he came up with one big save after another to close the door.

Woodbridge is back in action Monday when they host Delaware Military Academy.
