WiHi Football Start Season With Big Win Over Washington

Salisbury, MD: The Wicomico high school football team started their season off with a big win Friday night, taking down Bayside south foe Washington 52-10. The Indians got the scoring started on the very first play when the Cougars attempted on onside kick to open the game, but Matt Robinson would pick it up and return it 50 yards to the house.

WiHi then methodically moved the ball over their next three possessions. Each would end in a rushing touchdown, including two by Nelson Brown. However, the Indians kicking game struggled as they missed 4 of their first 5 point after attempts.

Down 18-0, the Cougars would try and fight their way back into the game after Jamarkus Brumskin completed a pass to Marc Jones for 50 yards and the score. They would go for 2 and convert. But the Indians just kept coming, as Brown would continue to pound the rock, finishing with 3 touchdowns.

Both teams play again Friday as WiHi plays Snow Hill at Salisbury University and Washington plays host to Kent Island.
