Washington Field Hockey Hold Off Lions

Princess Anne, MD – The Washington field hockey team picked up a win Monday night after they took down Queen Anne's 4-2. The win improves the Jaguars record to 3-3, while the loss drops the Lions to 2-5.

Washington jumped out to an early lead after Brooke Collier and Sarah Wells both score with 2 minutes of each other just twenty minutes into the match. That lead was then pushed to 3-0 after Collier would again find the back of the net off a scramble from the left side. The Jags appeared to be on their way to an easy win before the Lions came roaring back, lead by Taylor Feaga. She would score one to close out the half, and then open the second half with another goal to make it a 1 goal game. But just as Queen Anne's put the pressure on, Washington would come up with the answer after Sarah Wells would put it away with her second goal of the game.

Washington is back in action on Wednesday when they travel to Parkside, while Queen Anne's plays at Stephen Decatur on Wednesday.
