UMES Volleyball Tops DSU in 5

Dover, Del.  – The University of Maryland Eastern Shore volleyball team picked up a win Friday night after fighting back to defeat Delaware State University 3-2. The win improves the Hawks to 8-7 (1-0 MEAC) while the loss drops DSU to 0-10 (0-1 MEAC).

The Hornets played inspired ball to open the match, taking the first 2 sets and appeared to be on their way to a clean sweep before the Hawks battled back. Ksenia Sukhareva lead the Hawks with 20 kills while Ashley Smith finished with 16. Jasmine Jackson recorded 20 kills in the loss for the Hawks, while Neversh finished with 14.

The Hornets play Sunday at Howard while the Hawks return to the court Wednesday at American.
