Stephen Decatur Volleyball Picks Up Road Win At WiHi
Salisbury, MD – The Stephen Decatur volleyball team picked up a road win Wednesday afternoon after taking down Wicomico High School 3-0 (25-17, 25-18, 25-23). The win improves the Seahawks to 2-3, while the loss drops the Indians to 0-6.
The Seahawks jumped out to an early lead in Set 1, thanks to a strong performance form their middle Victoria Williams. The Indians would try and fight their way back into the set, and got some strong performances from some of their outside hitters including Maddie White who came through with a few kills. But the Seahawks had the lead from the start to finish Set 1, and would head to Set 2 looking to take a commanding lead. There they continued their strong play as serving began to become a huge factor. Marina Jones would record several aces, attacking the Indians front row and continually put WiHi out of system.
The Indians are back in action on Friday when they host Pocomoke, while the Seahawks return to action Thursday when they play at Snow Hill.
