Pocomoke Boys Soccer Pick Up Road Win At Washington

Princess Anne, MD – The Pocomoke boys soccer team picked up a road win Monday night after they defeated Washington 5-0. The win improves the Warriors to 4-3, while the loss drops the Jaguars to 2-4-1.

Both teams would be dead locked at 0-0 through most the first half while the defenses played well. It took til nearly 25 minutes into the match for the first shot to come, and that shot sailed over the upright on a free kick by the Warriors. But the scoring would heat up as Pocomoke finally broke though when Noah Brittingham would send a slow roller through the crowd and just sneak it by the keeper to the far post. That would be the only score of the half, but the Warriors offense would continue to attack in the second half.

There, Jacob Glovier would find the back of the net twice, first off a volley from the top of the box and the second off a great ball sent to the far post off a break away up the right side. Brittingham would then score his second goal of the match after he took a pass from Amonty Allen at the top of the box and fired it home. On the other end, the Jaguars continued to attack but weren't able to finish any looks for a goal. In the final minutes, Allen took a ball up the right side for Pocomoke and sent a beautiful cross into the box that found Avion Gale who would head it home for the goal. It was a nice moment for Gale, as he was celebrating his birthday during the game.

Pocomoke is back in action Wednesday when they travel to North Dorchester, while Washington hits the road to play Cambridge South Dorchester on Wednesday.
