Parkside Volleyball Picks Up Road Win At WiHi

Salisbury, MD – The Parkside volleyball team picked up a nice road win Friday afternoon at Wicomico High School in straight sets 3-0 (25-9, 25-8, 25-16). The Rams came ready to play, and in the first set jumped out to a big lead early after some tough serving allowed for some easy points. Then even when the Indians were able to return the serve and begin a rally, the Rams got some strong play at the net by Da'Jah Purnell.

After the Rams took the first set, they were able to jump out to another big lead in set 2, sparked again by tough serving. The Rams finished with several aces in each set, but used a their serving to build a 9-2 lead in the second set after getting 3 straight aces.

The Indians though, showed their pride in the set 3, battling the whole way and making it much more competitive than the first two sets. In that set, WiHi began to expand the floor and get the ball to a few of their outside hitters for some kills. But it wasn't enough, as the Rams were able to close it out for the win.

Wicomico plays next at Queen Annes on Tuesday at 5:30, while Parkside also plays Tuesday at Kent Island at 5:30.
