Kent Island Spoils Stephen Decatur’s Homecoming

BERLIN, MD — The Stephen Decatur Seahawks have been trying to break their three-game losing streak and knew it wouldn't be easy as they faced the undefeated Kent Island Buccaneers on the night of their homecoming game.

But it started it off on the right note with Sam Coates putting the Seahawks on the board first with a 44-yard touchdown run. The extra point was no good, so the score was 6-0.

Kent Island's Mike Quinn would answer for the Buccaneers with a 2-yard touchdown.

Right before the half, Decatur's quarterback Justin Meekins was picked off but Decatur would head into the locker room without any extra points from the interception.

After halftime, the Buccaneers continued to dominate on the field and handed Stephen Decatur their fourth straight loss as they defeat the Seahawks 35-19.

Stephen Decatur (0-4) will be on the road next week to face another undefeated team, the Easton Warriors (4-0) on October 3rd.
