Kent County Girls Soccer Pick Up Road Win At Mardela
Barren Creek, MD – The Kent County girls soccer team picked up their first win of the season Tuesday afternoon when they traveled to Mardela and came away with a hard fought 1-0 win. Both teams would battle to a stand still in the first half, after both goal keepers played some outstanding defense. Aggressive front lines allowed for several break out opportunities, but neither team was able to find the back of the net in the first half, and they would head to the break tied at 0-0.
The second half was much of the same as again both teams created several scoring opportunities. They would remain tied til late in the second half when Aubrey Helfenbein would fire a shot that would find the goal for Kent County. Their defense would close it out from there as they would take home the win.
The Trojans are back in action Thursday when they play at Colonel Richardson, while the Warriors are also in action on Thursday when they play at James M. Bennett.
