Easton Football Holds Off Parkside Late

Salisbury, MD – The Easton Warriors remained undefeated after holding off a late charge from Parkside 33-32. The win improves the Warriors to 4-0 while the loss drops the Rams too 1-3.

After the Rams grabbed the early lead, the Warriors jumped came back led by their quarterback Jaelon Moaney. The senior helped lead his team down the field and capped it off with a one yard keeper for the score to put his team out in front 11-6. After the defense forced a fumble, running back Leon Flournoy would add to their lead after a hard 3 yard run would be good for the score.

It looked like the Warriors might run away with it as the Rams then had to punt on their following possession, but a poor decision by the Warriors returner would result in a muffed punt that the Rams would recover in the end zone for a touchdown. Easton had the answer though as Moaney drove them down the field and capped off a long drive with a touchdown with just 8 seconds left in the half.

The teams would go back and forth the second half as the Rams never backed down and would score a touchdown with 10 minutes left to get within one. However they would miss the point after, and that would ultimately be the difference.

Parkside is back in action next Friday when they travel to Kent Island, while Easton returns to the field Friday as well, when they host Stephen Decatur.
