Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Educates Voter’s

SALISBURY, Md.- Delta Sigma Theta Sorority hosted a voter education and registration forum, with speakers from the Wicomico County Board of Elections at the First Baptist Church of Salisbury.

Salisbury University student Alanna Lawson says, “A lot of students in this area who fill up a lot of the population, they aren't from this district and so they kind of think they don't have to vote, or can't vote because they're not at home, but there are many different ways that you can do it.”

The forum discussed voter suppression awareness, how and what you need to vote, and what to expect at the polls.

Tosha Deal one of the event co-chair says, “Specifically with the education and the education arena with common core, with Pre-K, and whether or not Pre-K should go into a full time status. With the economy and the jobs, I think and believe it's a very important issue here on the Eastern Shore so we're speaking not only from a state level, but a local and community level.”

The members of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority told 47ABC they want everyone to be properly prepared to vote come November 4th.
