Delmar Drops Home Opener to John Carroll

Delmar, DE.- After losing their season opener on the road, the Delmar Wildcats took a tough loss at home to John Carroll (MD).

After trading fumbles in the first couple of minutes in the game, the Patriots of John Carroll would turn Delmar's mistake into points, after a 11-yard touchdown scramble by quarterback Kurt Rawlings. After a couple of touchdown runs by senior quarterback Shane Leatherbury, Delmar gained the lead at 12-7. John Carroll would proceed to go on a 35-7 from the middle of the second quarter to the end of the game. Delmar's Aaron Holland would add a 34 yard run before the game was over, making the final 42-19.

Delmar will travel to Wilmington next week to take on St. Elizabeth's. The Wildcats will be looking to avoid going 0-3 for the first time since 2009.
