Bennett Girls Volleyball Win Home Opener Vs. Queen Annes

Salisbury, MD – The James M. Bennett girls volleyball improved to 2-0 by defeating Queen Annes 3-1 (25-23, 27-25, 19-25, 25-12) Thursday afternoon. The Lions and Clippers would battle out the first set, with Queen Annes scoring several point off some tough serving, and getting Bennett out of system.  Bennett though countered with strong play up front.

Set 2 was just as close as both teams seemed to be exchanging some of their best blows. The Lions front row began to take advantage of some nice set ups, and shifted the momentum of the game. The Clippers would rally though, and began finding the creases in the defense, using several tip shots over the block.

Queen Annes finally broke through in Set 3, but just when it appeared the match would tighten up, the Clippers buckled down and dominated Set 4 to close it out.

Queen Annes is back action on Tuesday when they host Kent County, while the Clippers return to the court Monday when they host Cambridge South Dorchester.
