What to do after a fall

It’s no secret that people tend to slip and even fall during the winter due to slippery ice.
The issue is people tend to get up and walk away from those falls and don’t realize they’re hurt until months later in the spring.
Health experts say people should take falls much more seriously. Falls are apparently the most common cause of traumatic brain injuries and direct medical costs for fall related injuries amount to roughly $19 billion dollars in the U.S.
However, there are ways to help avoid this. The health director at MAC incorporated says it’s all about what you do after you fall.
Leigh Ann Eagle, the health director at MAC incorporated says, “We ask people not to move because you always have to be concerned of a head or neck injury. If they do a body check and they feel like they’re okay they can roll to their side.”
Medical experts say after a fall call for help. Even if you don’t feel pain right away, it doesn’t hurt to go to the ER or primary doctor for care.
