Three Alleged Wilmington-Based Gang Members Indicted for Hobbs Act Robbery in Dover

DOVER, Del. – Three men alleged to be members of Wilmington-based 6ixers gang have each been federally indicted on a count of Hobbs Act robbery.

According to court documents, 19-year-old Jerome Pegram of Newark; 22-year-old Damire Lee, of Wilmington; 19-year-old Jeremiah Cunningham, also of Wilmington, are alleged to have participated in the armed robbery of an individual at a house party in Dover this past March. The alleged gangmates are accused of forcing the victim to hand over his property, striking him with firearms and their fists, and using a financial application on his phone to transfer money to themselves.

The three men were charged with violating the Hobbs Act, which prohibits actual or attempted robbery, or extortion affecting interstate or foreign commerce “in any way or degree.”

U.S. Attorney Benjamin L. Wallace and Assistant U.S. Attorney Kevin B. Smith are prosecuting leading the prosecution against Pegram, Lee, and Cunningham. If convicted, the three men face a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison.

The FBI’s Delaware Violent Crime and Safe Streets Task Force and the Dover Police Department investigated this case.
