Indian River Fire Company Reveals New Renovations

MILLSBORO, Del.– The Indian River Fire Company recently completed a massive $4.1 million dollar renovation and expansion of its Long Neck station.

The new renovations include enlarged apparatus engine bays, training rooms, and bunk rooms to help accommodate the growing emergency response demands. The purpose of the renovations is to be better equipped to handle the growing population.

Patrick Miller President and PIO of the Indian River Fire company says the renovations are making a huge difference in the growing Millsboro area.

“The modernization, the construction, the renovations is a game changer for us,” Miller said. “It enlarges our engine bays, it expands our facilities, gives us training rooms, just a world of change for our firefighters and volunteers that serve here.”

Volunteer firefighter Charlie Johnston says the new renovations will help make his team be better equipped to handle emergencies.

“It’s just great to have a new building,” Johnston said. “It’s great to have more space and more space for equipment and hopefully we can draw in more volunteers.”
