United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore rappelling to raise money
SALISBURY, Md. – The United Way Lower Eastern Shore is partnering with The Ross and The City of Salisbury to rappel to raise money.
Over the Edge for ALICE allows participants to rappel down all 14 stories of The Ross building downtown.
The event raises funds for UWLES and its partners.
All funds stay local. ALICE are more than 2 in 5 local households who work hard, but are struggling each month to make ends meet.
It’s all about providing better health access, opportunities for youth and financial security for all neighbors.
The “Edgers” group includes those who have raised $1,080 or more for United Way.
They will rappel from 12 to 5 pm.
“About two years ago this May, I was at a conference with some colleagues and found out that this event was done in their community out in the Midwest and The Ross was still being built at that time and it just planted a seed I wouldn’t let go of,” said Pam Gregory, President & CEO of United Way Lower Eastern Shore, “so we’ve been working on it since then and The Ross has been an incredible partner to help make this happen.”
The event will take place this Friday from 12 to 7 pm at The Ross in Salisbury.
There will be a community block party with live music and community vendors as well.
