Man convicted of murdering estranged wife in Oct. 2020

MARION, Md. – A man has been convicted of first degree murder and other charges after he shot and killed his estranged wife in October 2020.

On October 17, 2020, Maryland State Police responded to an address on Cornstack Road for reports of multiple gunshot victims. On arrival, troopers found three people suffering from gunshot wounds, and one victim, LaGina Robellard, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Further investigation revealed that James Robellard responded to the residence that evening from his home in Hebron, shot his estranged wife eight times, reloaded a separate magazine in his gun, and shot at another victim, identified as Corey Glover, multiple times. After being shot once in the leg, Glover reportedly shot James in his abdomen with a shotgun Glover was shot again by James in the shoulder area. Glover was able to lock himself in a bathroom until police and EMS arrived.

When police arrived, James Robellard was found lying on a couch inside the residence holding a pillow over his shotgun wound. His handgun was found close to him.

Robellard was convicted by a Somerset County jury of first degree murder and attempted first degree murder.
