Spring ASL Level 1 Classes @ Deaf Independent Living Association
Mar 3 @ 6:00 pm – Apr 2 @ 8:00 pm
Spring ASL Level 1 Classes @ Deaf Independent Living Association

Classes are taught by a deaf instructor. Students will learn about Deaf Culture and how to carry on an everyday conversation with deaf individuals. Role playing and games designed to teach basic signs are used as tools. By the end of class, a sampling of the skills you will learn are: Manual Alphabet, numbers, introducing yourself and exchanging personal information. We strongly encourage students that pass level 1 to continue to learn by taking a future level class 2 which will build on what was learned in level 1. Like any other language, Level 1 only covers the basics and there is much more to learn to be able to communicate effectively in ASL.

ASL Level 1 Classes will be held March 3 – April 2, 2020 every Tuesday and Thursday from 6-8pm. Cost of class is $225 & includes textbook. If you have the textbook cost is $150. In case of inclement weather make up classes will be held on April 7th & April 12th. All classes held at Deaf Independent Living Association, 806 Snow Hill Road, Salisbury, Maryland. Registration is limited to 20 people. Must be at least 13 years of age to take course.

When registering online, please mail check or money order made payable to DILA, 806 Snow Hill Rd, Salisbury, MD 21804.
