Spring ASL Level 1 Classes
Classes are taught by a deaf instructor. Students will learn about Deaf Culture and how to carry on an everyday conversation with deaf individuals. Role playing and games designed to teach basic signs are used as tools. By the end of class, a sampling of the skills you will learn are: Manual Alphabet, numbers, introducing yourself and exchanging personal information. We strongly encourage students that pass level 1 to continue to learn by taking a future level class 2 which will build on what was learned in level 1. Like any other language, Level 1 only covers the basics and there is much more to learn to be able to communicate effectively in ASL.
ASL Level 1 Classes will be held March 3 – April 2, 2020 every Tuesday and Thursday from 6-8pm. Cost of class is $225 & includes textbook. If you have the textbook cost is $150.
