I’m Javari Burnett – Reporter/Producer at 47ABC. I grew up in the small town of Marion, Arkansas. Yes, southern charm still exists! Fun fact: I was only a bridge ride away from the historic Beale Street. My interest in news goes all the back to my days as a reporter for my high school newspaper. I’m an alumnus of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, where I received a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications. More recently, I completed my Master’s degree in Journalism & Strategic Media at the University of Memphis.
My journey here started in March of 2021. I’m no longer landbound and I’m ready to jumpstart my career and get a nice ocean view while I’m at it. I’m excited to be apart of the fine team at 47ABC to tells stories and be an accurate and fair journalist. I look forward to connecting with new people and learning all there is to know about Delmarva.
In my spare time I enjoy trying out new eateries, mastering the art of selfie taking (I’d say I’m an Instagram pro), and watching Netflix. I’m always ready to add something to my current binge list, so keep the suggestions coming.
