Weather Tidbits: Buck Moon

The July full moon take center stage in this Weather Tidbits. The moon gets its name due to a buck’s antlers emerging from the foreheads at this time of the year. It also goes by the name of hay moon, due to haymaking throughout the months of June & July. It lastly goes by the Thunder moon due to the frequency of thunderstorms in the summer. The Buck Moon has a lower angle in the sky similar to the sun’s path here in the northern hemisphere during the month of January.
