Weather Tidbits: Wolf Moon

The January full moon is known as the Wolf Moon. It’s called the wolf moon due to the belief that wolves howled more during this time of the year due to hunger; but today we know they howl for other reasons. The moon is also known as the center moon as it roughly marks the halfway point of the winter season. This moon will follow a northerly track in the sky just like the cold moon in December; which is mimicking the sun’s trajectory in the sky during the summer months.
