Police find drugs and almost $7,000 during traffic stop, two 18-year-olds charged


ELLENDALE, Del. – Two 18-year-olds from Pennsylvania are facing multiple drug charges after police reportedly found almost 190 grams of marijuana and other drugs in their car, Saturday night.

Delaware State Police says a Trooper stopped a black Mercedes Benz for speeding on S. DuPont Hwy., south of Fleatown Rd. in Ellendale, around 5 p.m. Police identified the driver as 18 year old Benjamin Roscioli of Horsham, Penn. and the passenger as 18 year old Andrew McPoyle of N. Wales, Penn.

While talking to Roscioli and McPoyle, the Trooper apparently noticed a strong smell of marijuana coming from inside the car. Police reportedly found the following inside the car: 187.5 grams of marijuana which was packaged in multiple plastic baggies; 98 1-gram vials of liquid THC; an assortment of drug paraphernalia; and $6,806 in suspected drug proceeds.

Roscioli and McPoyle were taken to Troop 7 where they were charged with one count each of possession of a controlled substance in a tier 1 quantity, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, conspiracy 2nd degree, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Roscioli was also cited for speeding.

They were arraigned in Justice of the Peace court #3 and released on $6,250 unsecured bail, each.
