UPDATE: Three charged in connection with Talbot Co. murder investigation
Three men were arrested after police say they were involved in the fatal shooting of an Easton man.
The Easton Police Department says 24-year-old Jawaun Blake, 25-year-old Terrence Conaway, and 24-year-old Dionysus Butler Jr. were arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of 23-year-old Jorian Travon Edwards, in Easton. Police say on July 23, just after 8:45 PM, officers responded to the area of Tubman Drive, near the entrance to Rails to Trails, for the report of shots fired. Officers report that Edwards was found at the scene and taken to the University of Maryland Shore Medical Center, where he died.
According to the report, further investigation revealed that Blake, Conaway, and Butler met with Edwards and spent a little time together. After a short period of time, authorities say the three individuals planned to meet with the victim for the purpose of robbing him. After setting up a place to rob the victim, law enforcement says they attempted to rob him and as Edwards fled, Butler fired one round. The victim was hit in the lower back.
All three individuals were arrested and charged with murder first and second degree, armed robbery, assault first and second degree, use of a firearm in a violent crime, reckless endangerment, attempted theft and conspiracy on all charges.
Blake, Conaway, and Butler were held at the Talbot County Detention Center.
